New Spot, Old Roots

From Garage to Gathering Place

About Fremont Garage

Fremont Garage is a new food cart pod and bar coming to the corner of NE Fremont Street and 44th Avenue—built on the longtime home of Barrett Automotive. The name “Fremont Garage” is a nod to the site’s automotive roots, honoring the history of the neighborhood while reimagining the space as a place to gather, eat, and linger.

Located in the heart of the Beaumont neighborhood, Fremont Garage is designed to be a true community hub. The project brings together a curated mix of food carts, a full bar, and outdoor seating in a space that feels welcoming, casual, and unmistakably Portland. Once complete, the site will feature a mix of open-air and covered areas, transforming an 8,000-square-foot lot into a lively destination for locals and visitors alike.

The project is led by local developer DBS Group; Fremont Garage is targeting a spring 2026 opening and plans to operate daily from 11 AM to 11 PM, offering consistent food and beverage service year-round. Live music and events are planned for the future, with details to be announced.

Rooted in neighborhood history and built for what’s next, Fremont Garage aims to be the kind of place you can drop by any day of the week, whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or settling in for the evening.
